Who inspired you to be a priest?

I was inspired first by Fr. Don Lomasiewicz because of his sincere desire to do only the Lord’s will in all things. His witness to me has always been a insight into how the Father loves. Another major inspiration was Fr. Vincent Davila, a Dominican priest I met while at the University of St. Thomas. He inspires me because of his way of continually preaching the Heart of the Gospel, which is the Heart of the Father which Jesus invites us into.

Why do you want to be a priest?

St. John Vianney said that the priest is the “love of the Heart of Jesus.” That is why I want to be a priest: I want to be for others the love of Christ’s Sacred Heart.

What do you love the most about seminary?

I love the seminary because my brothers and I all share a common goal and source of life. We all want the Lord. We all take strength from Him. And, we do it together.

What are you most grateful for?

I’m most grateful for the Father and His presence in our lives: even when we forget, He is still there, not passively watching us but actively seeking us and bringing us abundant life. Through Christ He gives us freedom to be who we are meant to be: His sons.
