Who inspired you to be a priest?
When I was in grade school my family frequently attended daily Mass at St. Lazare Retreat House in Spring Lake. The Vincentian priests that ran the retreat house inspired me with their pastoral hearts and love for the priesthood. In addition, to my Godfather, Fr. David, these men were some of the greatest examples of priests which ultimately lead me to seminary.
Why do you want to be a priest?
Our patron at college seminary, Saint John Vianney, once said, “The Priesthood is the love of the heart of Jesus.” I want to be a priest so that I might love the priestly heart of Christ specifically partaking in His sacramental priesthood. Through the sacrifice of the Mass and administering the sacraments to the faithful, I wish to bring others to the merciful heart of the Father.
What do you love most about the seminary?
I love the fraternity amongst the men in the seminary. I can confidently say that the men at the seminary have become some of my closest friends. Though this brotherhood we encourage each other to strive for holiness and sanctity.
What are you most grateful for?
I am certainly grateful to all the holy priests and seminarians that surround me each day while in seminary. These men are on fire for the Lord and are excited to do His will. It is through their example that I am most grateful for the Eucharist presence of Christ and the opportunity to receive him daily in communion.
